    This isn't a trabant but I figured someone here might be able to help with ideas for removing carbon build up in this motorbike engine. There is considerable carbon build up on the piston head and around the valves. Any advice on how to remove this carbon would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

    thinners and a scotch pad will work you may need to use a wire brush on the valves a brass ones best as it doesnt scratch them to much it looks like its been running way to rich or with the choke on

    Thanks I will give that a go. I suspect that whoever had this engine before me ran it on 2 stroke mix not knowing it was a 4 stroke engine. That would explain the lack of wear anywhere in the engine despite the large carbon build up.
