Just wanted to share something I did while stuck at home/in the garage. I took an old DDR gas can, cleaned it up and painted it to match my 1984 Wartburg. I think the color was called Capri green, but I found this Krylon spray can to be a pretty good match! Now I have a nifty accessory item to carry in the trunk. gascan.jpg

I like it. Did you clean the inside? I will look in mine to see what was in them.

I probably should but I looked inside and it seems like it's never been used or even opened much. I'll probably just use it with a filtered funnel.

Nice! I have a couple of them, but they don’t look as nice as yours.
The Trabant owner’s manual recommended carrying a 5 liter reserve canister
For long trips, so of course I had to search on eBay.de until I found one! I also have a one liter can to keep 2-stroke oil in as well.
