I am looking for Trabant 1.1 for sale in US.
Welcome to the forum. Trabants in general are pretty rare in the US, but a 1.1 is even more rare. Hopefully you will be able to track one down. Best of luck!
I just find out that it will be much easier to buy one in Europe and import here then waiting for mirracle
There has been a 1.1 for sale on Craigslist in Chicago.
Here is the link:
It has been for sale for a while, so might be able to get the price down.
With this one I have a problem because it is not even close to original. I am looking to buy one without "tuning" like power windows etc. I am really thinking about one importing from Poland. Not sure if it will be 1.1 or 601.
Good news. I bought Trabi 1.1. Hopefully will be with me in next 2 months.
Will need some work, but all my previous Trabi need some work and love. Can not wait
some work, and after that it can even go to the Car Show
Finally Trabolo has new home. I made over 1500 miles round trip (ATL-Chicago-ATL) to pick it up in two days with snow storm and tow dolly (not the best idea ). He need some work but as a project with my Son (hopefully it will be his first car) we are very excited.
BTW: looking for some parts like: acceleration cable, hood opener cable, front and rear square bumpers (with plastic/black corners) and spoiler under front bumper - like in 601. I want to make it look like Trabant Polo before serial production (see one of attached pictures). Also probably I will need some rear suspension parts because it sit too low in my opinion.
Congratulations! My favorite place for parts is Trabantwelt.de , They seem to have everything, are very helpful, and are fair with shipping costs.
Keep us posted on the progress.
pretty bad on this corner
work, work, work......
after cleaning probably I will see more
At least I just received nice gift from my Family in Poland (milk chocolate Trabant) mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Alternator and Starter after rebuild looks like new.
Engine is out and body is ready to work on it.
Beautiful looking dynamo and starter! I need to do that to mine.
Did you get them rebuilt here in the US? Any guidance/info to where to get this done properly would be greatly appreciated!
I will be keenly watching your bodywork progress as I am in the same boat!
Yep. I did it in this place:
It takes 2 days to get it done. Really happy with it and I can highly recommend them.
