Here is that tool chest that fits nicely. It is snug so it doesn't rattle around. I am not using it right now for fear it might break. it is very brittle thin plastic. The car that this came with was sold to me by a guy in Zwickau for one DM in 1991. in 2000 I sold it to the middle man for the International Spy Museum in DC. It is the one they cut in half and is on permanent display. I sold them the other one they had on display every time I was in there. That one was also 1 DM. Someone told me that a new display was being planned for where it was parked in the Museum. IMG_20130801_194752.jpg IMG_20130801_194804.jpg IMG_20130801_194810.jpg IMG_20130801_194912.jpg

Some of us may still have original stickers in the windows. I need to remove this and conserve it.

I would love to find one of those. I have seen them in pictures but never new for sale.

I have never seen them new for sale, nor used in person. That says a lot, that I never saw one for sale even at all of the Trabi Treffen and Old Timer Treffens I have been to. I did see one on ebay quite a while back and I was way way outbid on it. don't remember for how much it ended selling.

We saw some of these in Wartburg accessories. The Verbandkasten or first aid kit is a must in your Trabant. No DDR driver would risk a Strafzettel (ticket) for not having it with them. IMG_20130822_190843.jpg

Where can I get an IFA window sticker like this one?

I guess if push comes to shove I could make one on my printer. I was at Office Depot the other day and bought some glossy sticker paper to make some decals and believe I saw some that you could make your own clear stickers.

Someone, a vendor, at the ITT had all kinds and sizes of such stickers. I bet one of the parts suppliers has them. Let me know if your DIY stickers work.

There's a vendor on ebay.de that sells them all the time and ships everywhere; I think they're only a euro or something. There's also a vendor who can make any DDR logo you want in any color and any size. His service is fast and it's very good work. I made service logos for my truck: DSCN1031 (800x600).jpg
There's a story behind this too. I first tried to get a local print shop to work from my artwork but just going overseas was cheaper and easier! The world is just getting so small.

That is about what they cost at the ITT, a Euro or two depending on the size. That truck looks great.

Nice, have a look at the sellers other auctions. Amusing items.

Here is a Fire Extinguisher. I don't think it was ever required but it sure fits nicely there.

this is a classic everyday thing that you might find in an original one owner Trabant like this, my Luedke from Bitterfeld came with; this vase and plastic flowers.

I know I'm stretching this topic, but here's some nice accessory items for any European car. At least there's one thing Americans can successfully export! 20130908_165813 (800x600).jpg

There was one of these that recently sold on Ebay.de for 30 Euros. I should have bid on it since the seller offered world wide shipping.

I'm currently trying to find some sort of cup holder. I seen a wire type cupholder on a VW bus that hangs onto some slots in the vent that might fit the gapping hole on the passenger side.

    Maybe something like this:

Sort of hate to drill into the dashboard and mount one of those holders that hooks onto the door like I did on my Yugo.

I would have bid on a tool box like that for that low a price. It is a super neato thing.

I like that one you found. I have one that I picked up somewhere and will pic if for you, I don't remember ever seeing a beverage holder in a Trabant but will do it myself too. I will find that thing soon.

Here is what I wanted to use. Problem is, it has a screw and double sided tape way to attach and it has to be on a flat level surface or it would not work. The only place like that is on the floor.

Got my IFA sticker the other day:

The one I made from window sticker paper from Office Depot did turn out too well...

Also got a owner's manual (in German):
