Hi all, I was wondering if anyone(mostly in the U.S.) has any suggestions as to where would be a good place/website to order tires for my Trabant from. Most that I have looked on do not have size 145-80-13 and the ones that do are based in Germany and have shipping costs I'd like to try and avoid. Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Luke.
Have you tried calling your local tyre shops? They may not have them in stock, but I am sure most places would be able to check with their suppliers and get them in.. At least thats how I got hold of mine.
Posted by Hanjo http://www.trabantforums.com/threads/tire-size.824/#post-3570 original from: http://pf31.pappenforum.de/index.php/Thread/20353/ In Germany the following sizes are allowed for the 601: 135R13 / 135/80 R13 145R13 / 145/80 R13 155R13 / 155/80 R13 155/70 R13 165/70 R13 @turbofiat124 also reported that he got some tyres from here: http://www.cokertire.com/145r13-vredestein-sprint.html
Thanks for the links. And I checked locally once before, but honestly never really followed up with it, so I think I'll try that before trying to go through the online process.
I got some tires for my Wartburg at tires-easy.com. I see they have Vredesteins in the size you are looking for.
You may be able to put 165's on, but you probably don't want to. There is more info on pappenforum but I think the 165's had some restrictions.
$51 a piece? Is this the same Vredestein tire I'm talking about? 13" SR145 is the same as a 145/80R13 74T ?
