You're better off selling the Beetle and using the cash to find a Trabant near you for sale. There should be some in the PA/MD/VA area that might come up for sale eventually.

I believe that the videos Adam is posting are cars that he had gotten last year or the year before. I think that the only thing he has left is a Trabant converted into a truck.
Hopefully something will turn up before the winter.

I was just up at the Carlisle import show( In my Trabi). I had heard rumors about one sitting in Philly PA.

Some guys walked by, talking about it.

Was told its sitting on the street : Winston Park, Wyndmoor PA.

Its kinda white, with a blue top. Good luck, its all i know about it.

I saw that Trabant you are talking about on another usa Trabant site. It is a 1988. I believe that one was offered for sale to me and I was interested in it but never heard back.

Cool Trabi. 1990 would be one of the last built and with the water cooled VW engine?
I suppose I need to drive my 601 combi to the east coast to find a buyer. Time for a Trabi-Trek

Hi Everyone,

New member and glad to have found this post. I have a 1986 601 that I imported myself in 2019. I purchased the car from a friend that lives in Germany and had it completely mechanically gone through before exporting. Interior and exterior have not been touched but are in good shape for the age. I personally drove the car from Pforzheim Germany to Antwerp Belgium where it was loaded onto a vessel and shipped to NYC. 2020 hit and the car has been garaged since as life got busy. Looking to send the car onto a new owner who will love it and most importantly drive it.
