Sort of a day late and a dollar short on this thread but since the forum is somewhat slow these days (I guess due to the cold weather) I thought I would mention something in case this ever happens to anyone else.
I was planning on attending the Parade of Trabants. I had my hotel room and a U-haul trailer all lined up but came down with an illness about a day before so I decided not to attend. Dizziness, unsteadiness, etc.. It bumbed me out that I didn't feel like making the trip. Hopefully I'll make it in 2015.
Anyway I had been having some inner ear issues (ringing, loss of hearing in my left ear) for about a year which I think was causing the dizziness. I should have went to a real doctor instead of my company's medical department but I didn't. They couldn't find anything wrong with my ear.
Back in January, an upper rear tooth that had been bothering me off an on for about two years finally hit me one day like someone had punched me in the face. I had complained to my dentist about this tooth in the past and everytime he X-rayed it he couldn't find anything wrong with it.
I told him I was not trying to self diagnosis myself but thought I had an abscessed tooth. I asked my dentist if he thought the inner ear issue and my tooth were related since they were on the same side of my head. He said he had never heard of this but said it was quite possible and to let him know if my ear problem went away.
Once he removed the cap he confirmed my suspision. After a root canal and a week of antibiotics my ear problem finally went away.
That was the worst root canal I have ever had in my life! I was still in pain for three days following the procedure. But at least I am no longer in any pain or having dizziness.
Hopefully the tooth was the reason behind my inner ear problem.
