In reply to a post by Keri, post: 21307, member: 757 Correct, the intermittent function wiper switch does have a washer switch built in, however it switches the GROUND (B-) on and off at Terminal 53c, not the power. So, as a result, the (+) terminal on the pump must be supplied with power, tapped at the reverse light circuit.
Just pushing the wiper switch is much, much better than using any sort of push-button switch!

The wiper switch in mine has the intermittent function but does not have the washer logo on it. So I'm assuming there are several different types of these switches?

As the knobs are interchangeable, the marking on it is not a reliable indicator of the switch type.
You should check for the presence of Terminal 53c on the bottom edge of the switch. Some of the switches have a marked position, but no terminal.

I'll check the terminals on the switch. I may just end up putting a button in place of the plunger like this one instead of the red one that came with the kit:

Can't you cut or remove the end of the existing manual pump and epoxy a push switch inside so dash stays looking stock?

I thought about that. I actually have a "pull" switch which looks kind of like the original I could paint black.
