Ron I have spare motor that I am working on over winter, hopefully it should make the trabi shift a bit faster.
Razibilla my trabi in Hungary had to have a cat put on for the MOT there. It's not good for the motor and best to remove it. In Hungary I have a spare pipe that I can swap over after the test. You could remove the cat and fit a 45 bend and have it side exit by the back wheel

It's been a very long time since my last post, my trabant was put on hold as redundancies were imminent at work, luckily all sorted now and my position has been confirmed safe. To celebrate I have started wiring the car for the new fog and reverse lights which I fitted today onto a used rear bumper. I also ordered the lowering leaf spring kit (120mm) and front camber correction piece (12mm) from Trabantwelt
I tried fitting the front bumper but it's in a real bad state, mounting brackets bent one side and half sheared off the other side. Also will need to drill and tap new fixing points as the old bolts sheared off. May look to purchase another if I cannot fix/fit this.
Has anyone removed and fitted the front and rear leaf springs, how easy/hard is it, will I need any special tools.
Many thanks
Razi
