I have gotten all the parts needed for this build exept for the steering wheel and wood.My time is very limited due to my work schedule,so as of 12/20/2014 I have gotten to do some work.The diff axle now has a 60 tooth sprocket on it and the 1x3 's are laid out for some measuring of the cuts I need to make.I was instructed to get two more rear axle bearings to help support it which has lead me to rethink the frame.Have to do a step up rear section from the seat back to offset the axle to the center of the frame in front.Mounting the bearings on the hangers that came with the bearings should make for a easy removal if needed.The wheels will be painted red with removable center caps,the body will be of aluminum and wood construction.Im still collecting some of the detail parts which is proving to be a challenge.I will update more as it progresses thru the next few weeks

Well here it is the 27th of Dec 2014,I have yet to be able to find time to go out to the shop.It was my GF birthday yesterday and today she wants to go shopping in Lincoln City for some misc stuff.I hope I can get free tonight to work on some wheels and cutting of the frame.I did take a few parts to work to grind on them between jobs yesterday.I have been doing some thinking on how to install the diff support bearings along with the install of the engine.Dont have any plans drawn up for this project but I have been looking at lots of pictures of my subject car to make changes in frame construction.The body is whats going to eat up the time,I just hope I can find more detail parts soon.I may have to fabricate them too which will be a royal pain!!!

Here it is Jan 10th 7:20 am ,im up and ready to get to work.Been kind of a roller coaster ride this week with medical issues but with that being handled by someone else I got some sleep.Today I will be working on cutting the frame to accept the diff type rear axle,cutting the rear hubs to fit the wheels and painting the front wheels with self etching primer.Ive still been surfing Ebay for a decent steering wheel to suit my needs with no luck,damn they want alot for this broken stuff let alone a good one!!! For you guys who live close to me here in Hillsboro I would like to meet up with you guys so maybe we could discuss some summer action with say Balloon Fest or Rose Cup races.I have some contacts who could get us set up.I also have connections with Monster Jam which also could be fun,ive done this show many times with my 1/5th scale cars,even had Rod Schmidt who was driver of Digger come to my house after the sunday show with his help.Just give me a shout,maybe go have dinner at Buffet Palace.Time to finish breakfast and get going!!!

Was going to meet up with Otto at the model expo yesterday but my friends bailed on me at the last minute,so today I finished my rear hubs.Now moving on to build the front axle and steering parts,guess my biggest challenge is to get the spindles welded on straight.Time to eat some lunch and get back at it

Here it is Feb 15th,Finally have a rolling Chassis after a bunch of delays.Spent most of yesterday morning welding the spindles on and making sure all the angles were right.Going out today to start with the motor mounts and brake system next.Went out to Grande Rhonde Casino last night ,waited two hours to be seated for dinner!!!Didnt get home till after midnight (about 1hr drive)will have to get some plywood from home depot this week for the sub structure of the body.Would post some pics but having problems downloading them to my computor,would like to show you guys some welds with shielded wire and you dont have to have an expensive welder to get it built with good looking welds.It just take practice and a steady hand

Hey guys its 3/7/15,spent most of the day trying to figure out my motor/chain and brake system alignment.Good news,its mounted and ready to install the steering shaft and rods.I hope to start cutting the plywood ribs and some frame work in the morning.Time to find that cardboard box I stashed away to make patterns with.Im using an old 55gal barrel for rear fenders then bending some sheet metal for the fronts.I have yet to design the radiator or the seat position mounts.I just hope this thing doesnt get to heavy,but it should be fun to drive and it will get some looks!!!Im trying to keep my build inspiration a secret because I love the looks on the faces of the people who see my creations for the first time.I have taken pictures of every step I have done so far,I am having trouble finding some parts so it looks like I will have to fabricate them,I have plans of driving this at night for parades that we do here Starlight parade and christmas parade,maybe 4th of july.
