  • Austin C cab tow truck

Austin [Gittreville] seven tow truck. Built with love, for the purpose of Mechanical and emotional rescue, of stranded and broken cyclekarts. However should the need arise the cab and crane can be removed to resemble a rather sporty roadster. In other words,, a true convertible. These amusing vehicles were often referred to as ''C cabs" due to the rather obvious shape of the cab. This one also now has a trailer. Perhaps a cyclekart first?.

Hello, Brian! The excellent realisation of our-of-the-box approach to Caclekartism! Who said that Cyclekart couldn't be cute with a top? I am sure that Stevensons would happily accept you in their circle some 15 years ago. Also, Gitreville boys in the first years of their adventures. If they were purists, Stevensons wouldn't start Cyclekartism and Gitreville boys wouldn't re-fired that love for small, cute and crazy motorised vehicles. Excellent automobile for New Zealand cross-country adventures! Regards, Zoran

Hello, Brian! Well, both of us are well, here in Bern, the same as Olga's sons and their families here and my son and his family in Belgrade! Only, this bad period last too long - it seems that we are losing two years of our lives, that is not so nice in our turn of the sixties into the seventies. Well, there would be the end of all this, one nice day. I hope that you and your dearest are well, too. Regards, Zoran

That is cool as all get out Brian, and the trailer is indeed, a first. Now.....you just have to hope that it's 'more' reliable than the Cyclekarts that it has to rescue. When are you guys planning another long distance cross county run???dg

Hello Dennis. Yes a fun build this one, inspired when Mike Thorpe gifted me a nice old Austin 7 steering box. Mike and I were discussing the idea of another road trip soon, although with winter approaching he suggested that maybe the ''winterless north'' might be a better option. The problem is that we live in different islands and the trip across the ditch with a van and trailer is rather expensive for a pensioner such as I..Putting that aside I'm sure the investment in fun would be worth it. Mike is currently building another Edwardian, this one with rear suspension. [clever man he is] Keen to see how it goes.PS> Love the Riley Dennis, hope you are getting to drive it lots. Happy trails my friend. B

I hear ya talking, that is, about the pensioner bit. I'm in the same boat and had second thoughts about the trip out west to Huntsville, Utah. But....it's probably the only time I'll ever get to run the kart with anyone else so I'm breaking open the piggy bank and giving it my all. We're just coming out of winter here so the Riley's (more correctly, the Gerard) been up on blocks since last year. Got lots of tuning to do before Huntsville and need to finish the trailer, so I'd better get going.Hope you guys can get something going soon. To bad you have to spanthe gap to get together for a meet.Denny G
