This convertible pick-up was built as a street legal street rod that will be driven to the eighth mile drag races to compete. The GM 250cid Inline 6 cylinder started life with 155hp, but with the addition of "worked" 292 GM heads, an Offenhauser aluminum intake with 2 Rochester 1bbl carbs, and Clifford Engineering split (3+3) headers, it now produces 268hp on the dyno. A 2 speed GM Powerglide connects the 6 cylinders to a Ford 9" posi rearend. The truck has 4 wheel manual disc brakes, manual Vega box cross-steering, transverse leaf front straight axel, and coil-over rear suspension with adjustable "wheelie" bars.
An electronic Autometer speedo and GPS unit record the speed and distance travelled. The PU is licensed, safetied, and street legal....
