  • 3DSR

  • Working on the body aluminum.

  • Tail section almost ready.

  • Bare chassis ready for skin.

My second cyclekart build. The torsion bar suspension worked out beautifully on the Miller, so I decided to step it up and build a fully independent suspension chassis for the 1938 Alfa Romeo Alfetta race car. This one has a lot of curves, so I had to learn to use the english wheel. The body panels are all aluminum, except the nose and tail sections are fiberglass.

Do you mean 250# wheel rate? I turn the OD of mine down to what I need. There's a good wheel rate calculator on line for figuring that out. Let me know if you want it and I'll find it and send a link.

Well, if they're waiting to see how the body turns out, maybe they should wait on their rating too. Sheesh.

Theyre nuts Rick, this is a 15 on a 10 scale. That should bring that rating back up to snuff.

Hello Rick! One more of the masterpieces is near completion. I am amused both by technical solutions and by esthetic appearance. Great job, indeed. It seems to me that a few GP racers from the late thirties and early fifties would appear, soon - maybe not at one place, but that would be nice. Rate 10+... My Very Best Regards! Ciao, Zoran

P.S.: Maybe "authorities" should allow 14" wheels, wider a little for the CycleKarts of the post-Vintage era and post-War era? Just for the look, not for any racing benefits. Such cars could be punished by some added weight? Or obligation to have fat drivers or with additional lead on a belt, as jockeys?... Or engines with much less than 12-15 HP, that some of the CycleKarts have (stage one-plus or stage Itwo)? Z.

Thanks, Zoran! Yes it's getting close. I'm hoping to be done by the end of the month, but that tail section might take some time. Maybe mid July.

Hello, Rick, I am not surprised by final result, but I am delighted! Great painting work, nice tribute to original automobile, the same as everything else incorporated in this project. Regards, Zoran
