Hello, Rick! Excellent CycleKart you built! I am glad that your unusual idea of torsion-springs suspension works great! that should be the simplest, cheapest and lightest suspension type, but design and construction could be problematic... You succeed in all that - great achievement, indeed! Regards, Zoran

Thanks, Zoran. While I was building the car, I felt like the torsion bars might be too stiff, but after driving it, I've changed my mind. I think the difference is having my weight in the car, rather than just bouncing the front end of an empty car. I can feel the suspension working over the bumps. I'm also glad I made it adjustable. I may need to raise the ride height a bit when it's all done.

Rick, I suppose that the weight of driver should have a big influence on the front suspension, on such light cars in spite that C.G. is near the rear end... On photos, your chassis is really too near the ground. A good thing with torsional/springs that height could be easily corrected. I know that from VW/Beatle front suspension and Renault 4 rear suspension... Zoran

Rick, to me this car has very handsome proportions. You sit in it, rather than on it,and the overall impression is of a model much closer to full scale. I'm not much for the tippy clown car look. I would leave that ride height right where it is, and enjoy the stability.

Brian, I am envious on your teardrop caravan adventures - had once something similar that should be modified into a real teardrop, but instead of that - with brother, I made motor/camper... Zoran. P.S.: Good roads and drives for all of the Cyclecartistes!

Thanks guys.Brian, I had a hard time getting back to it after our vacation. You can do it. Dave, when I said I might have to raise the ride height, I meant like a half inch or so. I want just enough ground clearance to avoid problems.
