Yesterday I drove 80 miles to a friends shop to trade a stainless tank for some lathe and mill time/lessons. We cut down the center hubs for axle nut clearance. Then I got a lesson on setting up work in a 4 jaw chuck. So the asuza hubs went in the lathe and were turned down to fit the Honda wheels. One is nice and snug the other is a hair loose.
Today I mocked up the stylized hood so you guys could see what I'm talking about. It may be a little long, better than short.
Another task from today was outer bolt plates. I want to sandwich the Honda hub between the asuza hub and the outer plate. The plate should be 4 5/8 inch but I had some 4 3/8 inch circles in 1/4 inch. Found the center then hit it with the 1 7/8 inch hole saw. The plate will ride on the 4 ribs and around the hub, it will be trimmed down flush with plate. Pictures of that tomorrow.
